life: realistically defined- non-fiction (article)

Do you ever wonder, what is life? What is the real meaning of life? Is it just the biological definition from google, “the condition that distinguishes animals and plants from inorganic matter, including the capacity for growth, reproduction, functional activity, and continual change preceding death.”? But, I believe there is more to life. There lays life in the chaos of our vast world, there lays life outside of the life within the four walled home I currently sit in, there lays life beyond the comfort of my bed and there lays life under the smile I made to a stranger that accidentally bumped into me at the store. I feel like as if our definition of life is set by the activities that we pursue in our daily life. In that case, everyone’s definition must be unique, but then, what are some things that are common? Common themes that our definition of life revolve around are: trust, love, and happiness. Sounds too cliche right? Well not for too long, for I am about to define life more realistically under our cliche terms (remember, they are overly used terms for reason and that reasoning is about to be uncovered).

Trust; firm belief in the reliability, truth, ability, or strength of someone or something. Without trust we can see our species as almost incomplete. We are to trust anything and everything around us. We must trust that we will go to school, and come back home alive. We must trust that the drunk man on the street at 10 o’clock PM will not harm us. We must trust that we will not get an earthquake that will swallow us whole into the core of the earth. If we lived with such fears, how would we ever progress as a human race? Being scared would be the only feeling that would invade our mind. We would drop the chances that we were to take because of a fear lurking in your subconsciousness. You could say that our world would be bland and boring without having fun. Imagine not going to an amusement park because your are scared that you will fall off the roller coaster. In this situation, you must trust that the roller coaster will not drop you, and that you will come back off alive. See? You trusted the roller coaster, you did not fall off, and you had lots of fun. Now, this example of trust was too literal. Think about it in an emotional way. Trust is the foundation of interaction with the rest of our human race therefore you must be able to feel trust around those who you have relationships with. This trust allows you to bond, and become closer with the people around you, creating a friendlier society. A society must progress as one, and trust allows to do so.

Love; an intense feeling of deep affection. Love is so vast with so many meanings and many interpretations. In my article, the meaning of love is that love is a superpower that drives society. Each day we act for those who we love, even if it’s just self-love. We groom ourselves wither for self-appreciation or to look good for a certain someone. Our actions are fueled by the desire to do good. But why do we do good? The answer is simple; for love. Accomplishments allow us to love ourselves and open the opportunity for others around you to love you for your greatness and work. All individuals posses capabilities to be loved, and in each moment of our life, we are trying to unleash our ultimate potential. We seek praise and prestige. We want to be loved, and because of this selfish feeling, we are constantly running for occasions that will showcase our aptitudes and talents. A human beings, we crave attention; the feeling of wanting to be known, to be loved. Sometimes, we can go so far in attempts of wanting to be loved, that we start lying about our accomplishments. This creates a fake profile for others to view; a profile that the audiences digs. Humans tell lies and present fake faces only to conform to the norms of society. In conclusion, love defines our actions in life.

Happiness; a sense of well-being, joy, or contentment. Happiness is the oxygen that keeps us breathing. Have you ever heard of how mental health has an affect on our body? Many diseases are closely related to the mental state of your mind. Keeping your mind at ease allows you to enjoy life to the fullest. Being trapped in depression is not a fun state of feeling, which is why we are constantly seeking chances to improve our quality of lives, and of course improving our health by staying happy. They say, “happiness is the cure to all problems”. This cliche wasn’t too wrong. Happiness is a magnet that will attract all joy and positivity, and push away all sadness and negativity in our lives hence curing away all the illnesses of the body and most importantly, the mind. It is like detox tea that cleanses the soul or a mantra that drives away evil. You must embrace happiness to maintain stability and peace in your life. It will keep the human race from dying of depression and allow to create a positive environment around us.

Now you have seen how all three of these factors define life, and how us individuals choose to pursue our lives. Although there are many more factors that define life, these three factors build my own aspect of life. Let these cliche terms sink into your mind, and soon you too will realize the importance of trust, love, and happiness when you encounter it in your today and tomorrow.
